I’m a Partner in Michelmores’ Banking, Restructuring and Insolvency team.

I provide strategic and commercial advice on a range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, and have over 12 years of experience in acting for appointment takers, directors, individuals and creditors.

I specialise in contentious insolvency work, providing advice to clients on the merits and practicalities of bringing and defending litigation in this context, as well as the options for funding. I have a deep understanding of the pressures facing each of the relevant stakeholders in contentious matters and work closely with my clients to understand their objectives and priorities.

I also provide support to directors of companies operating in the “twilight zone” and have advised major banking clients on the enforcement and enhancement of security.

As an insolvency specialist, I enjoy working collaboratively with my colleagues and their clients across the Firm to find solutions to help them navigate the challenges they face. The genuinely collegiate approach of Michelmores allows us to provide helpful, timely and commercial advice that is specific to each client affected by the insolvency of a third party, such as a customer or supplier.

Advising in relation to the defence of claim against the director of an insolvent lender relating to a complex finance transaction

Providing advice, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in relation to the restructuring of a multi-national corporate group where a subsidiary with significant potential contingent liabilities was to be wound up

Advising the trustee in bankruptcy of a former high net worth individual in relation to claims that could be brought against connected third parties in relation to antecedent transactions

Acting on behalf of the director of an insolvent company in defending a claim in the High Court involving allegations of breach of duty

Supporting insolvency practitioners in relation to the pursuit of a wide range of claims against directors and third parties, and for the realisation of property, including providing advice on funding options and settlement
