Overview

I am a Senior Associate in Michelmores’ Agriculture team. I work with both private and corporate clients on a wide spectrum of matters affecting their property interests and businesses.

The Agriculture team at Michelmores work with an array of different clients on a broad range of matters. My work since joining Michelmores in 2024 has focussed on Natural Capital. This is a developing area of law, which requires innovative thinking to build on established ways of working to deliver sustainable environmental benefits in a workable commercial framework – a task I enjoy immensely and seeing the environmental benefits that are being derived from the Natural Capital projects Michelmores is involved in is also very rewarding.

I have been part of the team at Michelmores since Spring 2024, having spent more than a decade in private practice in commercial property (advising on the property aspects of several renewable energy projects, both large scale biomass projects and anaerobic digestion plants (feeding both electricity and gas to the national grid)) and more recently working with the in-house property team at the Environment Agency, focussing primarily on the acquisition of property interests to facilitate the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects through the use of compulsory purchase orders or transport and works act or development consent orders and the creation of intertidal habitat, which has delivered clear biodiversity and wildlife benefits within a relatively short time.
