Overview
I am a Managing Associate in the Residential Property team at Michelmores. After graduating from the University of Exeter, I went on to obtain a distinction in the Legal Practice Course combined with a Masters in Legal Practice at the University of Law in Bristol. I trained at another South West practice, before moving to Michelmores in July 2019.
I undertake a broad range of residential property work including acting for high net worth individuals and companies (both overseas and UK) in sales, purchases, remortgages, lease extensions and deeds of variation.
I pride myself on providing an impeccable service to all clients – from those taking their first step on the property ladder to those building their portfolio of investment properties – with the aim of forming client relationships which last.
Having lived, studied and worked in Devon all of my life, I have a particular interest in rural property and have gained broad experience acting on the acquisition of properties across the South West.
I have strong referral contacts across the South West, Bristol and London, with developers, brokers and estate agents.
Recent experience
Acting for an overseas company in the acquisition of two properties with a total value of £70m, achieving an exchange deadline for both properties of 7-10 working days
Appointed as a preferred Solicitor, selected by several large developers who build high quality homes in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorest, resulting in consistent instructions by purchasers of those new homes
Acting on the sale of a House in Multiple Occupation in London with a pending proceedings for the Seller to obtain possession of one of the units, including advising on the criteria for a HMO Licence and Planning Consent
Advising the owner of a large portfolio of properties on the refinancing of the portfolio and transfer of the properties into the name of their Property Investment Company
Advising a purchaser on the acquisition of a £2 million property with complex funding arrangements and a long standing boundary dispute, to facilitate the sale and purchase of property, including taking security over other property owned by the Seller
