I am a Partner and since 2019 have been Head of the Private Client Department at Michelmores.

Prior to joining Michelmores in 2009, I was a senior partner in the Commercial Litigation team of Nabarro for 27 years.

Aside from my role in connection with the Private Client Department, I specialise in commercial litigation, having handled a wide variety of corporate and commercial litigation, including banking and insolvency disputes, with particular experience in acting on complex disputes with an international element.

I have been a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) for over 30 years and was recently Chair of the Senior Lawyers Committee of the IBA.

Recent experience

Advising and representing Ticketus (major creditors of Glasgow Rangers FC) in connection with a variety of matters arising out of the financial collapse of that football club, including bringing proceedings against Craig Whyte, who had acquired control of the club, and obtaining a substantial summary judgment against him (reported in 2013 EWHC 4069 (Ch))

Advising and representing claimants in a substantial breach of trust claim over the sale of a holding in a family company resulting in a significantly improved return to the beneficiaries following a mediation

Representing an overseas financial institution which is one of a number of Defendants in substantial litigation brought in this jurisdiction over an alleged conspiracy to defraud relating to an overseas bank.

Representing an Israeli company in a multi-jurisdictional commercial contractual dispute with a US group

Advising a third-party witness who was the subject of a request by the Delaware courts for assistance by the High Court in examining her which, due to a failure to disclose crucial underlying circumstances, was resisted through to appeal.

Successfully representing an individual Defendant joined to a long-running Anglo-Israeli dispute and having the proceedings against him withdrawn prior to the trial.
