Tom is a Partner in the Employment Team at Michelmores, and divides his time between the Firm's Exeter and London offices.

Together with broad expertise in both contentious and non-contentious Employment Law issues, Tom has significant experience in advising on change management and employee wellbeing, and how they interact with the ever-changing landscape of Employment Law. He also sits on the Firm's internal Diversity & Inclusivity Committee.

Tom works closely with clients in a wide range of sectors to deliver a personal and bespoke Employment Law service, but has particular interest in the Finance and Investment, Education, Retail and Charity sectors.

He often speaks at external HR training seminars, and chairs regular round-table sessions for senior HR professionals on a wide variety of topics.

When not at work, Tom is a keen golfer, and is currently working his way around the South West Coast Path.

Recent Experience

  • Leading the defence for a police force against a multi-stranded discrimination claim which culminated in a 5 week Tribunal hearing.
  • Advising a large fashion retailer on the restructuring of their UK workforce.
  • Supporting an international charity on the legal, strategic and reputational aspects of a complex internal investigation into allegations of serious sexual misconduct.
  • Advising an international Bank on the contentious exit of a senior member of staff.
