Lola is an Associate in the Clinical Negligence team. Lola acts for clients on a number of varied claims as well as assisting partner Bernadette McGhie on particularly complex, high value claims. Lola has successfully represented clients against general practitioners, hospital trusts and private doctors. She has experience in a number of different areas, including delayed diagnosis of cancer and obstetric injury. She has a particular interest in psychiatric injury claims and has successfully settled a number of cases for claimants with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following medical negligence.  

At University, Lola was awarded the Nash & Co prize for Best Graduate on the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Leonard Sainer Award from Decherts LLP.

Recent Experience

  • Obtaining significant damages for a client who had a delayed diagnosis of renal failure due to the negligence of two GP defendants; 
  • Settlement against a private dentist for extensive cosmetic dentistry undertaken without recognising the patient's underlying decay or carrying out root canal treatments;
  • Recovering damages for a lady who suffered severe trauma after the negligent care given to her during the birth of her baby
  • Assisting Bernadette McGhie on various cases where children suffered a brain injury during birth resulting in cerebral palsy and the need for life long care. As well as offering direct support on these cases, Lola is often instrumental in quantifying these high value claims.
