I am a Trainee in Michelmores’ Restructuring & Insolvency team and joined Michelmores in August 2022.

In my previous seat, I worked closely with a variety of local planning authorities to draft and advise on deed of variation agreements, a variety of infrastructure agreements and proposed development work. My work in the Construction and Engineering team was a mix of transactional and contentious and allowed me to work with a range of public bodies, companies and individuals.

Although new to the Firm I am quickly gaining experience of a wide range of work and enjoy engaging with clients from different backgrounds. Additionally, as each client has very different requirements I aim to work quickly to develop an understanding of their needs and how I can work to assist them and deliver the high quality of work that Michelmores is known for.

Prior to working at Michelmores I worked as a Conveyancing Paralegal. This work allowed me to build a foundational knowledge of property law which I am now able to develop at Michelmores.

Recent experience

This required a careful consideration of the proposed development and the commercial implications it may have for our client; it resulted in positive feedback with the client saying that they felt very well supported in the process

Assisting with the preparation of a complex deed of variation to allow flexible use of 12 properties with 11 owners and a varied number of previous agreements affecting two overlapping plots of land. As a new area of practice this work required me to work closely with my supervisor to ensure the finished product would be suitable and meet the needs of our client

Assisting with preparing a particulars of claim in relation to a development dispute. I was tasked with reviewing a wide range of documents to be referred to in the particulars and preparing the schedule of loss from the documents provided by our client

Advising on the requirements to apply for and register a Light Obstruction Notice. In completing this task I was asked to prepare a summary detailing the steps involved in creating a Light Obstruction Notice so that a sub team within the Firm could effectively work to secure such notices against a large number of properties and protect the development rights of our client.
