I am a partner in the Banking, Restructuring and Insolvency team and specialise in Real Estate Finance.

I have worked at Michelmores for almost twenty years and undertake secured lending transactions for a broad range of clients including offshore lenders, alternative lenders and LEPS. I also act for Insolvency Practitioners in relation to sales as Law of Property Act Receivers and Trustees in Bankruptcy.

A significant proportion of my work is undertaken for “repeat clients” and I really enjoy ensuring that I, and other colleagues working for those clients , really understand their business and objectives so that we can deliver the best possible service to them. This is a continual and dynamic process and involves us in adapting our processes and priorities to meet their needs, the challenges they face and the ever changing legal and commercial landscape.

Advising an LEP in relation to a loan to a company developing a former landfill site and installing solar power generation plant to provide clean energy

Acting in relation to a multi million pound loan secured on a retail development. The work included advising the client in relation to the transaction structure and undertaking the due diligence on the property including the review of all occupational tenancies

Ongoing advice to a client with security over a multi let property in relation to the property management and documentation

Provision of advise and support to a new platform lender including, working with colleagues to assist the client with the development of security documentation and processes

Acting for an LPA Receiver in relation to the sale of residential leasehold properties forming part of a new development including assisting with the preparation of template leases
