The Real Estate team at Michelmores LLP have supported international law firm Taylor Wessing on a joint venture between employment specialist Remploy Employment Services and Maximus − an accredited provider of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Work Programme.
As part of the joint venture – which sees the business leave Government ownership, all Remploy Employment Services employees will take a collective 30% stake in the partnership.
The Michelmores team, led by Partner Sally Rice and Solicitor Lucie Hadwick, advised on the property aspects of the joint venture, which involves a total of 73 leases and licences affected across the UK.
Established 70 years ago, to provide training and employment for injured and disabled ex-servicemen and miners after the Second World War, Remploy works to secure employment for people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities, mental health conditions and other disadvantages. Since 2010, Remploy has found almost 100,000 jobs in mainstream employment for people with disabilities.
Sally Rice, Partner in the Real Estate team at Michelmores, said:
“Remploy has a fantastic history of securing employment for people with disabilities in the UK. We are delighted to have supported this joint venture, and help secure Remploy’s long-term future.”
