Overview

I’m a Senior Associate in Michelmores’ Transactional Real Estate team. I have experience acting for small and medium sized developers in relation to site assembly and acquisitions and disposals as well as regional and national housebuilders on a wide range of residential and mixed-use developments. I also act for landowners in relation to disposals of land for development including contracts conditional on planning, option agreements and overage.

I also have experience acting for affordable housing providers and local authorities having spent some of my career working in-house for both a local authority and a government department.

I have experience in a broad range of commercial property transactions including landlord and tenant work and secured lending, but I am passionate about residential development. I enjoy guiding and assisting developers through the various legal intricacies which are present with development sites to allow the developer to build out a development and sell the homes as quickly and efficiently as possible. I also enjoy getting to follow the development of the site and view the quality finished homes once built.

I joined Michelmores in October 2022 having previously worked at a national law firm based in the South West. Outside of work I am a keen runner and am happiest walking or running along the Devon coastline.

Recent experience

Acting for a developer on the acquisition of a site for the development of 8 units in Somerset from a Receiver with multiple legal issues to resolve.

Acting for a national developer in relation to transfers of land subject to Section 106 obligations

Acting for a developer in relation to the re-financing and subsequent sale of units at a site in Cornwall within a tight timescale

Acting for a Parish Council in Somerset in relation to the acquisition of woodland for community use which included agreeing overage and dealing with access issues
