I have been a Partner in the Employment team at Michelmores for the last 14 years. Up to 2020 I was head of the team.
I have been practising in the field of Employment Law for over 30 years. My field of practice is wide and varied, in that I spend approximately half my time advising employer clients in defending Employment Tribunal claims (whether relating to unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing or breach of contract), and the remainder of my time advising on non-contentious employment issues.
I have particular specialist experience in relation to advising on complex TUPE outsourcing situations; obtaining injunctions against employees who breach restrictive covenant obligations; resolving senior executive exit disputes, and advice in relation to disputed bonus and share incentive arrangements. I am also an accredited mediator, with experience of mediating workplace disputes.
Over the last 14 years I have consistently been rated as a leader in my field in the South West region for employment in both the Legal 500 and Chambers directories.
In my spare hours I enjoy walking the Exe Valley countryside with our two dogs, tending my alpacas, and getting my hands greasy fettling a motley collection of old classic cars and motorbikes.
Taking enforcement action on behalf of a national financial services company to prevent an ex-employee from making use of stolen confidential information and engaging in competing business activities
Advising a national government agency in relation to the introduction of new staff pay bandings and revised terms and conditions, which involved delicate negotiations with five recognised unions and related process issues
Advising a national financial services firm on the application of TUPE in the context of their acquisition of another large financial services business, acting alongside our Corporate team who were dealing with the acquisition
Advising a local AIM listed PLC in relation to the contentious exit of their founder CEO which involved resolving complex share option entitlements
