We are delighted to announce the appointment of two more Partners to the firm, in a move that will boost the Restructuring & Insolvency Team, and the Transaction Real Estate Team.
New Partner Benn Richards is a solicitor-advocate (all higher courts, civil and criminal) in both England and Wales, and is admitted to practice in the Eastern Caribbean Circuit. He joins the growing Restructuring & Insolvency Team and will be specialising in both contentious and non-contentious insolvency.
Benn has specific expertise in Civil Fraud, Asset Recovery, Restructuring & Insolvency, and significant experience in the not-for-profit sector, including leading the insolvency advice on the pre-pack sale of 4Children (August 2016). His work also includes acting for insolvency office-holders in relation to unlawful tax avoidance schemes, breach of duty claims against directors, cross-border insolvency issues, and acting on complex bankruptcy issues.
Benn is also a member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals (R3) and sits on the Consulting Editorial Board for Lexis PSL Restructuring and Insolvency and the LexisAsk panel for insolvency law.
Richard Walford joins as a Partner in the Real Estate Team and brings vast experience in working with private and public sector clients, helping them to resource and manage their legal work and resources efficiently. He specialises in corporate occupier, infrastructure and development work and has particular expertise in managing large property portfolios and handling complex transactions/restructurings and refinancing.
Richard’s experience and interests include strategic land, sustainable development and future mobility. In the transport sector, Richard has experience undertaking policy advisory work and his background includes sitting on industry working groups. He is recognised in Chambers and Legal 500 for his practice in real estate and local government infrastructure.
