The Living Systems Institute, University of Exeter wins Education Project of the Year

The winners of the 15th annual Michelmores Property Awards have been revealed, celebrating outstanding property and construction projects in Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Dorset and Cornwall, across ten categories.

The Living Systems Institute at the University of Exeter, a project submitted by BAM Construct UK, provides state-of-the-art facilities for research into some of the most severe diseases facing humanity, from chronic neurodegenerative diseases to the animal and plant diseases that threaten food security. The Institute combines a nine-storey and a seven-storey building, which, amongst other elements, comprise cell and molecular research laboratories, staff and research offices, meeting rooms and a 90-seat seminar room.

 

 

The winners were announced at an Awards Dinner on Thursday 15 June at the University of Exeter, hosted by comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke.
