All done in record time and very easy process.
Thanks a lot for your time just now – very efficient.
Thank you Charles – you’ve been delightful to deal with.
Overview
I am a Managing Associate in Michelmores’ Tax, Trust and Succession team, advising clients on estate planning and succession strategies.
I have significant experience of working with business owning clients, including landed estates and rural enterprises, on efficient structuring for tax and succession. I spent three years in the management of a healthcare technology company and therefore bring a unique perspective to advising family businesses and entrepreneurial clients.
I grew up in and live in Herefordshire giving me a deep understanding of the rural economy and the importance of diversification.
In 2025, I co-launched MAINstream Cheltenham with Adam Kean, Partner in Michelmores’ Corporate team. MAINstream is an angel investment network connecting early-stage businesses with potential investors. Within its first year, the network facilitated £300,000 of investment through two pitch events.
I am a regular speaker on succession and inheritance tax planning, particularly following the proposed changes announced in the 2024 Budget. I have chaired panels at major events such as the Three Counties Show and Cereals, and have been featured in Citywealth, The Times, and alongside Jeremy Moody in coverage leading up to Cereals 2025.
Before joining Michelmores, I worked at top tier firms including Forsters and Charles Russell Speechlys.
Recent experience
Advising a well-known UK landed estate which includes a large farming operation, stud farm, residential property, development land and National Trust property. As part of that advice, I was the main point of contact in relation to £12 million of borrowing obtained to allow the estate to progress development opportunities. This required regular correspondence with the lender and their solicitor, the Estate Manager and oversight of the property work involved
Being a key member of the advisory team to one of the most significant landed estates in the country which owns extensive rural and urban property
Significant involvement in the establishment and ongoing assessment of ‘Balfour‘ style partnership agreements and restructuring required to maximise tax efficiency
