Festive MAINstream South West pitch event celebrates 2025’s final round of high-growth start-ups

Michelmores hosted the final MAINstream South West Pitch Event of 2025 last week at the Quayside Distillery, Exeter, bringing together investors and high-growth, early-stage companies for a morning of innovation, insight, and festive networking. MAINstream is Michelmores’ Angel Investor Network, connecting high-growth, early-stage companies with experienced investors. The network aims to drive growth, foster innovation, and support the entrepreneurial community in the South West.

Four carefully selected companies pitched their businesses to the MAINstream network, each presenting for ten minutes followed by an engaging Q&A session with attending investors. Following the pitches, with the agreement of the applicants, presentations and contact details were shared with the network’s 85 members, fostering further conversations and potential investment opportunities.

The event also offered attendees the chance to connect over a light festive breakfast, reflecting the community spirit at the heart of the MAINstream network.

Established in 2019, MAINstream is a UKBAA-registered network supporting angel investing and early-stage growth in the South West of England. With five pitch events each year, the network connects ambitious start-ups with local investors, many of whom have themselves founded, scaled, and exited successful businesses.

2025 also saw the expansion of MAINstream with the launch of a dedicated Cheltenham network, extending opportunities for early-stage companies and investors across the region and strengthening support for local entrepreneurial growth.

December’s event marked a fitting finale to 2025, showcasing innovative companies and celebrating the continued growth of the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
