Record growth for Michelmores Bristol office

Leading law firm Michelmores has announced strong year-on-year growth for its Bristol office, as the South West continues to lead as the biggest UK legal hub outside of London.

Over the last year, Michelmores’ Bristol practice saw revenues grow by 23% across all disciplines and increased headcount by 13%.

Michelmores’ Real Estate team saw significant growth, quadrupling in size over the last year and welcoming top solicitors from firms across the country. The Real Estate team is made up of 20 partners and over 50 specialist lawyers, providing a full range of expertise including planning, funding, environmental, construction, tax litigation and dispute resolution.

In recognition of this growth in the Real Estate team Paul Beanlands was recently promoted from senior associate to Partner, following his transfer from Michelmores’ London office.

Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores said: “We invested in expanding the Bristol team in response to client demand and the obvious growth in the region, particularly in the real estate sector. Bristol has become a highly attractive opportunity for investors across the world and the huge range of innovative property projects taking place across the city is testament to the market conditions.

“Many of our solicitors now enjoy living in the beauty of the West Country alongside the buzz of the Capital, working across our London, Bristol and Exeter offices. As we continue to embrace agile working, we are delighted to be able to offer this ‘best of both worlds’ approach to our colleagues.”

Michelmores opened its Bristol office, based in Broad Quay, in 2012, offering legal services across a range of sectors including real estate, construction, agriculture, corporate and private wealth.
