Michelmores is pleased to have been shortlisted in three categories at Insider Media’s South West Dealmakers Awards 2024.
Insider’s landmark South West Dealmakers Awards is once again being held in the centre of Bristol this summer. The gala dinner event is firmly established as the highlight of the professional services and corporate finance calendar in the region. Following a fascinating 12 months for deals, the event is a chance for those involved in the year’s greatest successes to celebrate their achievements.
The Firm has been shortlisted in the following categories:
This award is for the law firm based in the region which has had the most outstanding year advising regional-based businesses on completed transactions during the qualifying period.
Michelmores has been shortlisted in this prestigious category as the Firm continues to enhance its reputation in the Corporate Finance, Private Equity and M&A sectors in the South West. The Corporate team has experienced high growth during the qualifying period, with five significant appointments to the team.
The team is now 30 lawyers strong, (a 25% increase on the same period last year), making it one of the largest specialist corporate teams operating in the South West. It attracts the larger and more complex deals emanating from the region and nationally, with private equity or listed company status often a feature alongside a range of sector specialisms.
This award is for the standout small deal of £10m or less made in the South West during the qualifying period. This recognises smaller deals that may have been overlooked in the Deal of the Year category their innovation and the value they created.
The Firm’s shortlisting for Small Deal of the Year (£10m or less) is in respect of having advised Family Adventures Group Ltd, a rapidly expanding leisure venue and day nursery group, on its £5m investment from Foresight Group, the regional private equity investment manager. Read more here.
This award is for the standout deal of £10m to £25m made in the South West during the qualifying period.
In May 2023, Michelmores advised tech-enabled legal services company The Barrister Group (TBG) as it secures a minority investment from LDC, the private equity investor which is part of Lloyds Banking Group. Read more here.
