The Building Safety Act 2022: a practical application

Join solicitors from Michelmores’ Construction & Engineering team for a webinar on the practical application of the Building Safety Act 2022.

In force since October 2023, the Building Safety Act affects all construction projects in England and Scotland and is arguably the biggest piece of legislation to affect the Construction Sector in a decade. There are now nine Statutory Instruments under the Building Safety Act which affect and dictate how all construction projects, which are subject to the Building Regulations, should be managed from a health and safety perspective.

This webinar will outline the wide range of obligations arising from these Statutory Instruments in respect of ‘higher-risk buildings’ and ‘non higher-risk buildings’. Our team will explain what you need to know about the Act and how it should be applied on all current and future projects. We will be looking at subjects under the Act such as:

  • Applicability and Sanctions of the BSA
  • The processes and requirements for non higher-risk buildings
  • The processes and requirements for higher-risk buildings

In respect of each topic, we will tell you who is responsible, what they must do and how might it affect you if your business gets it wrong.
