The Michelmores 5k Charity Run is returning on Thursday 12 September 2024, this year taking place at Exeter’s buzzing Quayside! Join together with colleagues to represent your business – or run solo – to support a fantastic charity and be in with a chance to be crowned champion of the business community.
Unite your teams as you take on this 5k challenge, fostering teamwork, camaraderie, and a shared sense of accomplishment – not to mention the numerous wellbeing benefits!
Many of our runners look forward to a competitive event and this year will be no exception, with the following prize categories:
- Biggest Team
- Fastest Corporate Team based on the top 4 fastest runners (mixed-gender)
- Fastest Running Club based on the top 2 fastest runners
- Fastest Male (aged 49 or under)
- Fastest Female (aged 49 or under)
- Fastest Female Veteran (aged 50+)
- Fastest Male Veteran (aged 50+)
- Fastest Young Runner (aged 14 – 17)
- Team who raises the most money on our dedicated JustGiving page
- Individual who raises the most money on our dedicated JustGiving page
As part of its commitment to reduce the environmental impact of the event, Michelmores will be encouraging green travel and all of those signed up will receive a race t-shirt, made from recycled materials, in their runners’ pack.
All funds raised through the event will support our fantastic charity partner, FearFree, who is working to break the cycle of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, across the South West.

Runs in the family
Wellbeing, inclusivity and sustainability really matter to Michelmores, and form the foundations of this year’s event. Those aged 14 years+ and of all fitness levels are invited to jog or run the route, so bring your friends and family along. Although we’re aiming to get as many businesses involved as we can, everyone is invited to the Michelmores 5k Charity Run – the more the merrier!

Meet your host: Matt Young!
Matt is an event host and former broadcaster in Exeter, who used to wake you up as the breakfast DJ on Gemini & Heart FM. More recently, Matt has become an advocate of health and wellness for all and runs his own Community Interest Company in this realm. Matt has hosted the Fireworks at Westpoint, numerous Christmas Light switch ons across the city and countless Race for Life’s too, so we’re in safe hands.
