Michelmores is pleased to announce its headline sponsorship of the South West Innovation Expo, including Pitchfest and the Keynote Speaker address by Dhiraj Mukherjeem, Co-Founder of Shazam Entertainment, taking place on 14th October 2021 in Exeter. The event will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses, academics and investors to explore cutting edge technology developed in the South West – Devon, Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly and Somerset.
The Keynote Speaker, Dhiraj Mukherjeem, who is an experienced investor in tech start-ups, will focus his address on his experience of pitching to investors, giving advice for start-up businesses and entrepreneurs, as well as providing insight into emerging technology. The event will demonstrate the latest state-of-the-art technical and intellectual innovations that can be transformative to businesses across the region. Founded by lead partners University of Exeter, University of Falmouth and the University of Plymouth, and supported by Innovate UK, the SW Innovation Expo is a metamorphosis of the hugely successful Venturefest SW which ran in 2016 and 2019.
For the first time, SW Innovation Expo will also include Pitchfest, which will offer start-up companies in the region five-minute slots to present their start-up business or innovation to an audience of investors, business leaders and other entrepreneurs, as well as a free exhibition stand providing them with additional opportunities to meet and network with SW Innovation Expo delegates. MAINstream, Michelmores Angel Investor Network, will also be supporting applicants at the virtual investor readiness training day in preparation for the main event in October.
Michelmores will be present, with some of the UK’s leading lawyers on-hand to offer expertise around a number of specialised subjects. Innovators, entrepreneurs and investors will have the opportunity to participate in panel discussions, interactive technologies, networking, and Pitchfest.
