New Public Procurement Thresholds from 1 January 2014

On 1 January 2014 new thresholds for application of the EU public procurement rules came into effect.

Where a contract for works, supply or services to be awarded has a value above these thresholds, contracting authorities must follow a regulated procurement procedure in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulations 2006 (as amended).

The new thresholds are as follows:

Revised thresholds

(NET OF VAT)

Supply and services contracts (Schedule 1 Bodies)  £111,676
Supply and services contracts (other contracting authorities)  £172,514
Works contracts  £4,322,012
