Solicitor – Admitted 2020
Overview
I am a Senior Associate in Michelmores’ Transactional Real Estate team, based in the Bristol office. I qualified as a Solicitor in a national law firm in 2020 and joined Michelmores in 2025.
I act for a variety of clients in a wide range of sectors, with a particular focus on energy projects (including the negotiation and grant of lease option agreements for renewable energy developments).
I regularly advise clients on all aspects of commercial real estate including acquisitions, disposals, asset management (landlord and tenant), development and funding.
I ran competitively in my 20s and was 12th amateur at the 2019 London Marathon (in a time of 2:23). Nowadays I run at a more leisurely pace. I am a regular attendee at Michelmores Cycle & Run Clubs – Michelmores.
I appear on the roll of solicitors as: Harrison David Allen, SRA Number: 652297.
Recent experience
Energy
Advising both landowners and renewable energy developers on the negotiation and grant of lease option agreements, easement option agreements, leases, substation leases, easements and wayleaves for energy sector developments. These sites often have complex titles and title issues requiring successful resolution, mitigation or indemnity insurance to protect clients and facilitate project funding
Acting for energy companies in relation to the development of major infrastructure projects, including advising on offshore and onshore property arrangements for offshore windfarms and Carbon Capture and Storage pipelines. These often involve long cable or pipeline routes, requiring significant numbers of landowner agreements and complex due diligence
Acting for investment clients on the property aspects of corporate acquisitions of both operational projects and prospective developments
Asset Management
Asset management work and negotiation of commercial leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants, including advising on a £500 million+ portfolio comprising assets in the West End of London and other flagship national buildings
Advising on acquisitions and disposals of commercial property in a broad range of sectors, often involving a multi-disciplinary cross-practice approach with provision of advice on planning, commercial, construction and environmental issues
Advising on the property elements of M&A activities, including due diligence reporting and drafting of acquisition documents e.g. advising an international waste business on its UK expansion and acquisition of multiple waste and recycling businesses (which often involve complex title and environmental issues)
