Michelmores shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year

Michelmores has been shortlisted for Corporate Law Firm of the Year at the Insider South West Dealmakers Awards 2017 for the third year running, after winning the category in 2016 and 2012.

The annual corporate deal awards seek to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the wider South West region’s deal-making community, across 11 categories.

The acquisition of Bath Ales by St Austell Brewery has also been shortlisted for Small Deal of the Year. The landmark deal saw Cornwall-based St Austell Brewery Limited acquire Bath Ales Limited, including the brewery, its portfolio of beer brands and its 11-strong pub estate in July 2016 – creating a leading business in the South West and beyond.

At the 2016 awards, in addition to winning Corporate Law Firm of the Year, Michelmores deals won Deal of the Year (Aero Stanrew) and Small Deal of the Year (Magic Seaweed).

Richard Cobb, Partner and Head of the Corporate team at Michelmores commented:

“It is fantastic that the efforts of our team have once again been recognised at this year’s Dealmakers Awards, after proudly holding the title of Corporate Law Firm of the Year since June 2016. The fact that we feature so regularly in the leading regional awards for our corporate work illustrates the depth of experience in the team.

“We are also delighted to see St Austell Brewery shortlisted for Company of the Year and Small Deal of the Year – good luck to them!

“We are sponsoring the category of Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year at this year’s Dealmakers awards and wish all those shortlisted well on the night.”

Michelmores’ Corporate team in Exeter and Bristol is consistently ranked in the Top Tier for corporate finance in the Legal 500 and Chambers guides to the legal profession and several members of the team are recognised as leading individuals in the region.

The winners will be revealed at an awards dinner at the Bristol Marriott Hotel on 15 June 2017, hosted by former England rugby scum-half Kyran Bracken.
