Michelmores donates over a hundred PCs and monitors to schools in Exeter, Bristol and London

As part of Michelmores’ efforts to help local communities in Exeter, Bristol, and London, the Firm is donating over a hundred PCs and monitors to schools in these cities. The initiative is to help children and teachers have access to online learning and contributes to significant interaction with valued online resources in classrooms and at home.

The schools include St Peter’s Secondary School, St Luke’s Secondary School, and St Michael’s Primary School in Exeter, alongside schools in Bristol and London. The importance of donating this IT equipment has been highlighted by the crisis faced by schools during the pandemic, and the increased barriers to learning. Helping to give children and teachers access to computers in classrooms and at home is of vital importance and helps to keep young people connected. Through computers and the internet, learning has become that much more accessible and exciting, and Michelmores is delighted to be part of that learning experience.

Commenting on the computer donations, Phil Randall, Headteacher at St Peter’s School said;

“Students from St Peter’s Church of England VA secondary school in Exeter are delighted to receive the generous gift from Michelmores of computer equipment for use in the school.”

Michelmores sees the recycling of their IT equipment as a valuable contribution to bringing technology into education for children. Louise Edwards, Marketing Director at Michelmores said:

“We are proud to have connections with our local communities in the cities where we have offices. It is great to be donating PCs and monitors for such a good cause. Through computers and the internet, learning can become that much more exciting for young people. With our day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, we want to create an ongoing legacy of giving back and having a positive impact on the environments and communities with which we interact.”

In addition to helping local schools, Michelmores does a variety of other CSR initiatives for communities, including the very recent Michelmores Marathon for Mental Wellbeing in aid of the Charlie Waller Trust, which took place from the 7th June – 13th June and raised over £10,000.
