Four partner promotions at Michelmores

Michelmores has announced the promotion of four partners across its South West offices, with 50% of the promotions achieved by female lawyers.

Chloe-Howard Smith, based at the Firm’s head office in Exeter has been promoted to Partner within the Real Estate team and Karen Williams to Partner within the Business team. In the Bristol office, Edward Porter has been promoted to Partner in the Private Wealth team, whilst Adam Corbin has been made Partner in the Agriculture team.

Chloe Howard-Smith joined Michelmores in 2007 and is part of the transactional real estate team. Chloe has a broad experience in commercial property work but her key focus is on residential development.

Karen Williams has been working with the Firm since 2008 and has a client base extending across the South West. She has experience across all areas of corporate and personal insolvency, finance and banking practice.

Joining Michelmores in 2013, Edward Porter is based in the Tax, Trusts & Succession team in Bristol, with a portfolio of South West, London and international clients. He provides lifetime estate and tax planning for clients with an increasing focus on business owners and those with agricultural property.

Adam Corbin is a Barrister and joined the Agriculture team in 2014. He has a broad background in disputes practice covering landlord and tenant, property, commercial, contentious trusts and probate, and public law matters, predominantly in the agricultural sector.

Michelmores has also promoted seven Senior Associates this year.

As part of its commitment to gender inclusivity, Michelmores aims to achieve a partnership group made up of at least 30% of women, by 2022. The Firm is moving closer to this target through its Women@Michelmores initiative, which is focused on removing the potential barriers to female progression, and takes active steps to address these. As a result of these promotions, the female representation at partner level at Michelmores will increase to 25 percent.
