Jo Mackie talks us through an overview of the key unfair dismissal reforms taking effect in January 2027, including the reduction of the qualifying service period from two years to six months and the removal of the statutory compensation cap, together with guidance on how employers can prepare and mitigate risk.
Rachael Lloyd and Henry Cross take a look at some of the key people management issues facing employers today, including the use of AI in the workplace, effective manager decision-making, handling grievances and investigations, and the importance of maintaining clear audit trails and documentation. They'll explore how these challenges are playing out in practice and the sensible steps employers can take to manage risk and achieve better outcomes.
Our Immigration team, including Lynsey Blyth, Madni Chaudhary and Nicole Hambleton, lead a practical guide to managing sponsorship throughout the employee lifecycle, covering recruitment considerations, visa applications, right to work checks, sponsor compliance obligations, role changes during employment, and the key immigration issues to address when a sponsored worker leaves the business.
