Michelmores has won UK and Ireland Regional Team of the Year at the STEP Private Client Awards 2013/14, the respected international awards for ¬the private wealth sector, which took place in London on Wednesday 18 September.
The firm beat stiff competition from other finalists in this category: Bond Dickinson, Cripps Harries Hall, Debenhams Ottaway, and Henmans Freeth.
Through an independent and rigorous judging process the PCAs set the industry standard for excellence in private client practice. Winning a STEP PCA has proved to be a clear mark of quality in the private client sector, offering international recognition and credibility.
The Judges said: ‘Michelmores is a powerhouse in the UK. They have invested both time and capital in the building of a strong team providing top-quality private client work and led by some very high-profile experienced practitioners. This commitment has been rewarded in adding considerably to their breadth of work, which now ranges from services for the international super-wealthy in global jurisdictions, to advising an increased number of UK-landed estates as well as institutional trustees. ’
More than 650 private-client professionals attended the Awards Ceremony, held at London Hilton on Park Lane hotel, which was hosted by Clare Balding, BAFTA Special Award winner and RTS Presenter of the year.
Chair of the Presiding Judges Paul Stibbard TEP, commented: ‘This year’s competition raised the bar for the depth and quality of entries from an increasingly international arena. This should act like a beacon for exceptional practice, shining across the more challenging fiscal and economic conditions many professionals now face.’
Senior Partner, and Head of Private Client, Will Michelmore said: ”Getting to the short list for such an important award is in itself a testimony to the quality of service that Michelmores’ Private Client Team is consistently delivering. Winning the award for the second time is extremely gratifying, particularly as it represents recognition from our peers in the profession.”
Next year’s Awards will take place on 17 September 2014.
