Michelmores Charity Run raises over £26,000 for child bereavement charity Balloons

The annual 5k Michelmores Charity Run has raised £26,460 for its Charity of the Year, Balloons. Over 1,000 runners took to the streets of Exeter in September 2016.

Balloons provides crucial pre and post bereavement support to children and young people who have lost someone significant in their lives – it is the only charity to offer this specialist service in Exeter.

A new route was introduced this year, starting and finishing at Exeter’s historic Cathedral Yard. 2016’s race was hosted by Chris Bentley of The Exeter Chiefs, who introduced the race and cheered the finishers across the line.

All money raised has been donated to Balloons. Michelmores has also announced that the Firm’s Exeter office will continue to support Balloons until the end of 2017.

Sarah Bennett, Balloons CEO, commented:

“Thank you so much for all your hard work in making the Charity Run such a great success. These events take a huge amount of planning and careful co-ordination. I loved working alongside you with the Balloons Trustees, staff and supporters. We are incredibly grateful to Michelmores for all that you do for us and know how very lucky we are to be in partnership with you.”
