Michelmores LLP has become a member of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the UK’s principal business lobbying organisation. The CBI represents organisations across all sectors, giving them a voice at a national and international level − to ensure business interests are kept at the heart of government policy.
The CBI regularly hosts conferences, events and meetings regionally and nationally, offering its members access to senior figures from business and government − as well as the opportunity to network with other CBI members.
Michelmores will host its first joint event with the CBI in Bristol on 16 September 2015, where Rain Newton-Smith, the CBI’s Director of Economics will host a talk on the UK economy’s recent performance and present the CBI’s view on the future outlook and possible risks.
Tim Richards, Partner at Michelmores said:
“We are delighted to join such a prestigious group as the CBI, which plays a crucial role in representing the interests of businesses in the UK. Our membership is also an important step for the Firm, providing our people access to all the events, information and support the CBI offer.”
Deborah Waddell, Director of CBI South West commented:
“As a prominent law firm working in the South West, nationally and internationally, Michelmores is an important addition to the CBI’s growing network. I look forward to partnering with Michelmores for our upcoming joint event, and working closely with the Firm in the future.”
Founded 50 years ago, the CBI has experienced continued growth, and has regional offices across the UK as well as in Brussels, Washington, Beijing and Delhi. The organisation has over 190,000 business members, equating to approximately a third of the private sector workforce.
