Community

At Michelmores we work with our charity partners in a collaborative way, with the aim of making a clear positive impact on the communities in which we operate. We are proud to be supporting four fantastic Charity Partners across our office locations. At the heart of our partnerships is a shared commitment to making a positive impact in our communities. We believe that these partnerships will enable us to achieve that goal and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.

We know that our people have a variety of skills, and we support them to use these to the best possible effect. As well as raising vital funds for our charity partners, we share our expertise, our passion and energy, to engage in their work.

Volunteering

We aren’t afraid to roll up our sleeves to participate in volunteering opportunities. We offer one paid volunteering day each year for everyone at Michelmores, enabling our people to get involved in vital community projects.

In 2022, we launched the Momentum programme with our partner, VisionPath. Momentum focusses on building career skills, experiences and mentor opportunities for disadvantaged students; our goal is to create lasting, meaningful social impact, and broaden the life chances of young people. We currently partner with three schools and deliver sessions to students on a range of topics, making the most of the variety of skills and knowledge across the Firm.[o1] Through this work we have engaged with over 200 school students, and over 30 colleagues have volunteered.

Pro Bono

Our pro bono work supports justice, sustainability, and social impact – guided by a dedicated pro bono policy to support meaningful engagement.

Our pro bono work is focused on deploying our expertise where it can have the most impact. Lawyers and other professionals from across the business are engaged in pro and low bono activity, which is growing each year.

In September 2025, we introduced a new Pro Bono Policy. The third pillar of our strategy, Significance of Impact, makes clear our commitment to impact, which includes providing pro bono legal advice to individuals and organisations.

By using their professional knowledge and skills, our lawyers can make a meaningful positive impact by supporting individuals or organisations navigating various environmental or social challenges, in a way which is aligned with the Firm’s purpose. Our new Pro Bono Policy provides a clear framework for lawyers who wish to dedicate investment and time to pro bono work.

Our lawyers can spend up to 30 hours of investment time per individual matter. If a pro bono matter requires more than a 30-hour time commitment, this will be approved by the Pro Bono Committee.
