On 1 January 2021, EU free-movement to the UK came to an end. Whilst Irish nationals are still able to work and live in the UK without restriction, all other European nationals will have to make an application under either the EU Settlement Scheme or the UK Points Based Immigration System. This means that UK organisations who intend to employ European nationals without settled or pre-settled status will now need to ensure that they have a sponsor licence.

Immigration and Employment law Solicitor, Siobhan Murphy, explores what a sponsor licence is, how to obtain one and the common mistakes when applying.
