We are pleased to announce that Michelmores has won the ‘Best Legal Team for Early Stage Deals’ award at the UKBAA Angel Investment Awards 2023 for the second year running.
The 2023 awards recognise the outstanding achievements of early-stage investors and the businesses they back, along with the professionals that help encourage and facilitate this.
The Firm won in this category in recognition of making a significant impact on the ecosystem during the past year, both through actively supporting angel and early-stage investment deals and bringing real added value to the investment process.
Michelmores has provided longstanding corporate support of early-stage deals. The Firm has expertise in venture capital and early-stage fundraising and has offered outstanding professional expertise on a number of early-stage deals throughout the last 12 months.
In addition to advising on the transactions themselves, the Firm has provided support to early-stage companies through their MiVentures programme which gives extra support to innovative and scalable businesses.
The Firm also won in this category due to its UKBAA registered angel investor network, MAINstream. MAINstream is a network for business angel investors established by Michelmores in 2019 to help accelerate the growth of angel investing, particularly in the South West. The Firm hosts 5/6 pitch events each year and has a growing membership of approximately 65 angel investors, all of whom are interested in investing at pre-seed stage and have a clear objective of promoting the financial ecosystem in the South West.
