Michelmores sponsors Western Daily Press Food and Farming awards

Michelmores has sponsored the ‘Agricultural Contractor of the Year’ award at Western Daily Press’ Food and Farming awards on Tuesday 10 May.

The awards dinner, now in its second year, celebrates the best of farming and food production in the West Country.  There were 13 awards categories including Young Farmer of the Year, Best Farmer, Food and Drink Business of the Year, Best Food Producer and Best Local Food Retailer.

Winner of the Michelmores sponsored ‘Agricultural Contractor of the Year’ award was King Agriculture  – a progressive agricultural business based near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire with over 30 years’ experience servicing the local agricultural community.

Head of Michelmores’ Bristol office Vivienne Williams, who presented on the night, said;

“We are delighted to have been able to sponsor this award and many congratulations to all the finalists and particularly to Philip and Jolyon King  on winning the Contractors award.  At a time when all sectors of the industry are facing tough challenges, it was refreshing to take the opportunity to celebrate some of the success stories and reward the hard work that made them possible.”

The Western Daily Press Food and Farming awards, in association with Yeo Valley Family Farm, were held at Bristol’s Marriott City Centre Hotel on Tuesday 10 May 2016.
