"I am delighted to have been asked to contribute to Reducing Risk in Fertility Patients. It is a practical, multi-agency and definitive guide to the risks associated with fertility treatment which will educate professionals and therefore offer greater protection to fertility patients and their families"
In the last 15 years, fertility treatment has become mainstream medical practice. With this evolution has come a change in focus from "success rates" to patient safety and a careful consideration of the risks in assisted conception.
The book is primarily directed to practitioners in the area of fertility treatment, namely clinicians, embryologists, nurses, counsellors and administrators. However, it is likely also to be relevant to policy-makers, commissioners of health services, researchers in this field and biomedical ethicists.
Louisa is a leading UK expert in fertility, surrogacy and family law. Her award winning legal practice includes: international and UK surrogacy, intercountry adoption, children and family disputes, co-parenting, donor conception, fertility treatment law, posthumous conception, divorce and finances, cohabitation and family law.
Louisa's pioneering fertility and family law practice was Highly Commended at The Law Society Excellence Awards 2013 in the Category of Business Development & Innovation (and shortlisted in the Innovation Category 2012). Louisa was also shortlisted by Jordan Family Law Awards 2013 in the Category of Most Innovative Family Lawyer of the Year.
