Newly Qualified Training Programme
Our NQ training programme includes a variety of workshops including career development and financial training with a focus to support a trainee's transition to a newly qualified solicitor.
We recognise that clients demand not just great legal knowledge, but great commercial insight and business acumen from their Lawyers. Our ASPIRE programme is designed to equip you with the changing skill set required to meet our clients changing needs and to equip you for the next stage of your career. This programme will immerse you in practical, hands on learning experiences and is a springboard for collaborating and building relationships with other Associates.
Our Essentials programme brings to life the culture and behaviours that are important to us which will fuel your ambition, creativity and confidence. Examples of modules include Developing a Growth Mind set, Professor BJ Fogg's ground breaking Tiny Habits, The Brilliance of Resilience and Thoughtful Delegation (linked to the Mindful Business Charter). This programme is open to all colleagues across the entire firm and is a great way to meet new colleagues from across our different offices/teams and build the skills you need to excel on your chosen career path.
Our in-house BuilD programme offers a series of training sessions to equip lawyers with practical Business Development skills and ideas that can be used to help generate business. These sessions are offered to all levels of lawyer from NQs to Partners and it is great forum for sharing best practice.
Senior Associate Development programme
We offer a structured leadership development programme focused on building a range of broader leadership skills including business development, strategic thinking, people management, leadership, financial management and service excellence. To encourage collaboration amongst our Senior Associates, you will also be invited to regular lunch and learns and will be invited to our annual Senior Associate conference.
We offer a bespoke approach to Partner development and invest significantly in the Leadership development of our Partners. The Firm's award for Excellence in Learning and Development in 2019 followed the roll out of two strategic development programmes, Leading High Performing Teams and Pricing. Both programmes encompassed a range of creative and innovative learning experiences and resources, aimed at fostering collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. This is supported with one-to-one coaching and 360 feedback. We are also proud to be associated with Judge Business School who support a number of our Partners to equip them with the insights, skills and techniques that help them to meet the demands of today's partner role and support them to be a more strategic leader at both firm and practice level.
Our Knowledge team help embed a culture of collaboration through sharing expertise, experience and creative thinking within teams, across teams, and across offices through the co-ordination and support of our Knowledge Sharing Sessions and After Action Reviews. The team also support the Firm by managing access to our electronic and hard copy resources and provide an enquiry service to all teams.
We offer a mentoring scheme which enables you to build connections, raise your profile, surface opportunities and create the perfect environment for developing your career and broader knowledge of the firm. All of our mentors and mentees receives training to support their mentoring journey to ensure that it gets off to the best possible start.
Professional Qualifications and Apprenticeships
We provide support and sponsorship for those wishing to develop their legal career via CILEx, STEP or other in other specialist areas. We are delighted to have been awarded the STEP Platinum Employer Partner accreditation, the highest of three awards under STEP's Employer Partnership Programme. To be awarded at this level, there has to be evidence of a strong learning culture, with a positive work and learning environment.
Our apprenticeship programme provide opportunities to develop colleagues delivering qualifications through a structured development plan. For legal teams they offer a clear career path from paralegal to qualified lawyer.
