I am an Associate in Michelmores’ Commercial team and a key member of the cross-practice and award-winning Technology & Innovation team, which is also part of the Firm’s ranked IT & Telecom practice. I am an active member of the team that delivers the Firm’s MiVentures programme.
I advise on a wide range of commercial technology contracts, with expertise in security and data protection regulatory compliance. I have a strength in complex B2B2C cloud-based technology platforms that increasingly make use of AI technologies across a range of (both regulated and non-regulated) sectors.
I have passion and curiosity for working with digital and technology businesses that are at the centre of the global sustainability challenge; and have a particular interest in the role the space, satellite and cyber industry has in bringing innovative solutions to market.
Prior to joining Michelmores I was the only UK candidate selected for the European Space Agency’s ECSL course in Space Law and Policy (Class of 2013). While at Michelmores I have been the legal advisor for the Satellite Applications Catapult’s South-West Centre of Excellence SpaceTech Incubation programme, backed by the UK Space Agency. I was also part of the team that helped advise Spaceport Cornwall and Cornwall Council on the regulatory and legal requirements for building, licensing and operating its horizontal spaceport here in the UK.
Prior to my career in law, I led and worked for both large, and early-stage venture backed, technology companies. I have a wealth of international, commercial and entrepreneurial experience across a range of sectors and bring a pragmatic, commercially realistic approach to the advice I provide clients.
I have an LL.M in data protection from the University of Law, an MA in Chinese from the University of Edinburgh and a decade of experience negotiating in spoken and read Mandarin Chinese.
