Simon is a Partner, Head of the Debt Recovery and Professional Negligence teams, and a member of the Board.
He joined Michelmores in 1987, and became a Partner in 1990.
Simon has extensive experience in commercial litigation disputes across a broad range of matters, with a particular focus on contractual claims, professional negligence and debt recovery, where he acts for both the public and private sectors. He established the Debt Recovery team five years ago, which has a reputation for its efficiency and tenacity in converting debt into cash for clients.
Simon acted in the high profile eviction of protestors (including 'Swampy') from three road camps, which had been illegally established on the route of the new A30.
Simon is the Under Sheriff of Devon and Vice President of the Under Sheriff's Association, and is licensed by the Ministry of Justice as a High Court Enforcement Officer.
- Prosecuting a fraudulent misrepresentation claim for an individual arising out of a commercial property transaction.
- Representing a private individual in a claim against an auction house for undervaluing significant family heirlooms.
- Successfully prosecuted claims in a number of significant cases where household insurers have failed to meet claims for damage to property including fire, subsidence, flooding as well as under critical illness policies.
- Acting for a group of private individuals in a successful professional negligence claim against a firm of accountants for providing misleading advice prior to the purchase of a new business.
