Karen is a Senior Associate in the Banking, Restructuring & Insolvency team.
She joined Michelmores in 2011, and principally deals with all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency work, including acting on behalf of insolvency practitioners, distressed corporates and private individuals. In addition, Karen also has restructuring and finance experience, advising on debt restructuring transactions as well as secured and unsecured lending.
Karen has particular experience in property related transactions. She regularly acts in the buying and selling of insolvent property-based businesses (for example, retail outlets, pubs, hotels and care homes).
Karen also advises insolvency practitioners, directors and individuals in relation to antecedent transactions as well as officeholders' duties, powers and responsibilities.
Karen is a keen sports woman, and one of her many accomplishments includes taking part in the Cape Argus, the largest timed road cycle race in the world.
- Acting on behalf of a UK privately owned chain of hotels in the £4.25m acquisition of a hotel from administration.
- Assisting with advise to Ticketus, a major creditor for Glasgow Rangers Football Club, in relation to the administration of the club.
- Advising and assisting in connection with the £7m restructuring of debt of an international garden machinery manufacturing and retailing business.
- Advising and acting on behalf of a regional airport in connection with the urgent enforcement of security interests over assets of significant value, completed within 48 hours of instruction.
