Jonathan leads the Private Wealth team.
Jonathan joined Michelmores in 2006, having trained and worked as a commercial lawyer before focussing on private wealth matters in each case with leading City firms.
Jonathan advises wealthy individuals and families in connection with the structuring of their private wealth. He specialises in trusts, estate planning and the mitigation of inheritance tax and capital gains tax for wealthy individuals. He provides tax advice to both UK and non-UK domiciled clients, and a large proportion of his work has an international element. Jonathan works closely with private wealth lawyers in the business department, providing personal tax and estate planning advice for directors, shareholders, and entrepreneurs.
Jonathan is a trustee of many settlements (including a number of landed estates). He advises trustees of other trusts as well as guiding offshore fiduciaries in connection with a variety of UK-facing elements.
Jonathan sits on the Society for Trust and Estates Practitioners 'Families in Business' Steering Committee. He is also a member of the International Bar Association, and in 2013 was recognised in the Citywealth 2013 'Leaders List'.

- Working with a large business-owning UK family to agree a family constitution that sets out a collective understanding of succession and control over their family's assets.
- Advising a UK resident property portfolio owning family in their creation of a non-UK vehicle for investing in US real-estate. Providing the UK tax and ownership advice and coordinating with US advisers on US tax and structuring elements.
