James is a Partner specialising in Employment law, and with a wider experience in commercial, partnership and corporate law.
James deals with all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law, with particular experience in the Health, Education, Retail and Manufacturing sectors. James has a particular flair for dealing with complex investigations and dealing with highly contentious and high-profile discrimination and whistleblowing Tribunal litigation. James is sought out by clients for his skills in achieving desired outcomes in relation to partnership/director/board level disputes.
Outside of work, James loves nothing better than to be ½ mile off-shore, 15 metres under the surface of the sea, and with a spear-gun in hand. James is also a nationally recognised Water Polo Coach.
- Successfully defending an NHS organisation in relation to high profile multiple whistle-blowing complaints brought by ex-employees against a number of NHS respondents.
- Representing the Secretary of State for Health in relation to a long-standing employment dispute brought before the Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeals Tribunal and Court of Appeal.
- Acting for a director in the construction sector faced with threats of dismissal/blackmail from the CEO of his employer. James managed to successfully ensure that the director retained his post within the business, and the removal of the CEO.
