Legal 500 2023

"Fiona Pearson has just guided us seamlessly through the most testing of Professional Negligence cases. She is extremely professional, always calm, never patronising and possibly one of the most hard working and dedicated individuals I have ever met. I firmly believe that I would not have been able to continue down the extremely difficult path had Fiona not been walking beside me."

I’m a Partner and Deputy Head of the Governance & Risk team. I work with the Firm and our lawyers to ensure that we maintain the very highest standards of professional conduct, deliver a first-class service to our clients and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.

My expertise covers key areas such as regulatory compliance and conduct issues, resolution of claims and complaints, conflict analysis, money laundering and financial crime, data protection and commercial contracts.

I also work across the business on both strategic and operational projects and initiatives, to provide pragmatic and solution-based advice and guidance. This includes best practice, critical business change, ethical standards, environmental and ESG.

I have extensive experience in professional negligence and insurance and prior to moving to a risk management role, acted for insurers, policyholders and claimants in a wide range of professional negligence and insurance coverage disputes. I continue to advise in this area where required and head up the Firm’s Professional Negligence team.
