Refunds for power of attorney fees
Those who applied to register a Lasting or Enduring Power of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian from 1 April 2013 to 31 March 2017 may be entitled to a partial refund of the court fees paid at the time.
The refund can be claimed by either the donor, who made the power of attorney, or the attorney appointed. Refunds will be paid to the donor directly, so their bank account details will be required on application.
To claim the refund, you can either complete the online form at www.claim-power-of-attorney-refund.service.gov.uk/start or telephone 0300 456 0300.
The current fee for registration of a power of attorney is £82, which means that refunds will range between £34 to £54 per power, dependant on date of registration.
