PA success at Michelmores
Three years into the PA network, the founding members look back at the success it has generated in the PA community and how far its members have come in such a short time.
Kim Glover, PA to Michelmores' Managing Partner, assisted by Rebecca Eccles, founded The Exeter PA Network, the only group of its kind for the city, in 2012. Established as a professional networking group for PAs, executive assistants, secretaries and admin support staff in the Exeter area, the group has since welcomed over 400 members and hosted a variety of career enhancing events.
The Network's success has had an effect, not only on the confidence of PAs and support staff at Michelmores, but also in the wider business community in Exeter − with a number of its members now putting themselves forward for more national awards.
Most recently Selina Yelland, PA to three lawyers in the Firm's Real Estate department was named 'Legal PA of the Year' at The Legal Support Awards 2016 organised by Strictly Recruitment. At the same awards in 2015, Michelmores' Tina Leach, a PA to two lawyers in the Business department won 'Up and Coming Legal PA of the Year'.
At the internationally recognised Executive PA awards in 2014 Rebecca Eccles, PA to Michelmores' HR Director, was second runner up in the 'Up and Coming PA of the Year' category and Carol Ramsden, PA to three of the Firm's Employment lawyers was shortlisted for 'PA of the Year'.
Kim Glover has also become a regional advisory board member of the Executive & Personal Assistants Association − the UK's leading professional body for Executive and Personal Assistants whose mission is to champion, promote and develop the Assistant profession.
Miranda Pammenter, Head of Professional Support Services said:
"The successes of our PAs demonstrate Michelmores' commitment to developing support staff to reach their full potential. Through winning these national awards, our PAs are helping to shine a spotlight on South West businesses and the high calibre of work that we undertake at Michelmores."
