Michelmores starts five new apprenticeships
Award-winning law firm Michelmores has again demonstrated its commitment to developing the career opportunities of its people by enrolling five more young people on approved apprenticeship schemes.
Four staff in Exeter are undertaking new Business and Administration Level 2 apprenticeships through provider Learn Direct. Hayley Dove and Abby Starling are Office Assistants while there are new roles for Olivia Snell as a Debt Recovery Trainee Apprentice and Alex Herbert as a Reprographics Assistant.
In London, the firm is trialling its first legal apprenticeship through provider BPP with Office Assistant Libby Mather studying for an Administration Level 2 qualification which leads to an NVQ in Business and Administration as well as CILEX level 2 qualification.
In addition, two Exeter based IT support staff, Michael Sum and Charlie Trotman have recently completed their apprenticeships in Level 2 NVQs in Customer Service.
Michelmores HR Director Colette Stevens said: “When the five staff currently studying for NVQs have completed their courses, we will have assisted 26 people to gain meaningful qualifications through our apprenticeship scheme in just 3 years – a record we are very proud of.
“Providing our people with the knowledge and skill sets they need for a successful career in the law is helping us to future proof the quality of service Michelmores provides. Not every role in a law firm requires legal qualification and there are huge opportunities in support roles across a number of disciplines.”
