Michelmores' London office continues to expand

Michelmores has strengthened its growing London office with the appointment of two new Partners, one new Associate and one newly qualified Solicitor.

Philip Newhouse joins as Partner in the Corporate team from McGuire Woods, and has previously managed offices for Taylor Wessing, Haarmann Hemmelrath and for McGuire Woods.

Philip focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and reorganisations. His experience includes cross-border and domestic corporate work for a wide range of substantial international clients. He has advised on a variety of investment funds involving private equity, private equity real estate and hedge and other investment funds in the United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Douglas Hawthorn joins as Partner in the Firm's Banking, Restructuring & Insolvency team from Travers Smith where he was Senior Counsel, and has previously worked at international law firms Hogan Lovells and DLA Piper.

Douglas specialises in advising on debt restructurings, turnaround and insolvency situations, acting for private equity sponsors, financial institutions, investors, companies, directors, turnaround professionals and insolvency practitioners. Douglas has a particular interest in cross-border issues.
