Charity ride takes Michelmores into Somerset

Michelmores Registry manager Alan Barr and his wife Sue led a team of friends on a 103 mile cycle ride across Somerset in June, raising £103 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The 10-strong team wore their Michelmores Charity Run T-Shirts on the three legged ride, cycling from Yeovil Junction to Shepton Mallet on day one, Shepton Mallet to Illminster on day two and Illminster to Yeovil Junction on day three.

There were stops for lunch and drinks along the way as well as visits to Barrington Court and Montacute House – both places used for the filming of the recent TV series Wolf Hall.

All the cycling was done on minor roads and tracks on routes planned and navigated by Alan.

MacMillian Cancer Support is Michelmores' Charity of the Year for 2015. The Firm's annual city centre Charity Run raised around £25,000 earlier this June to support this great cause.
