Michelmores is a Top 100 law firm, currently in its fifth consecutive year of growth with a turnover nearing £33m. Eight lawyers were made up to Partner in May 2016, bringing the Firm's partnership to 69. The total number of staff across Michelmores' three offices is now 462. We are already successful, but ambitious to grow and become even more successful.
Our HQ is in Exeter: a 50,000 square foot open-plan state of the art office. We also have offices in London and Bristol.
Michelmores really does put its people first: we invest a lot of time in developing and supporting people's career aspirations. In October 2016, we launched MiDevelopment, a brand new learning and development system, enabling everyone to manage training, knowledge sharing and learning more efficiently and effectively.
We also launched MiVoice, peer group networks for Paralegal and Trainee Legal Executive, Solicitor, Associate and Senior Associate groups across the Firm. The aim of this is to create more opportunities for our people to learn from their peers and to promote professional growth and development.
We provide the environment, encouragement and opportunities for you to flourish, both personally and professionally. We set the bar high in terms of our expectations, but in return we guarantee to provide you with structured development programmes, clear career progression and rewards and opportunities that are tailored to your needs. Our investment in our trainees is one of the reasons why we have been able to retain all of our trainees upon qualification for the last three years.
When we ask our staff what makes us a great place to work, time and time again people talk about the unique culture of the firm. Collegiate, friendly, supportive, inclusive, approachable, ambitious, caring and fun are just a few of the adjectives that are used. It is this unique culture that attracts many Partners from major City law firms, and sets us apart from our competitors.
We are also accredited by the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for guide as a "Ones to Watch" organisation, which is testament to the effort we make to ensure that our people feel happy, engaged and motivated at work. We are committed to fostering and promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion, where you will have opportunities to realise your potential, regardless of your background. Our in-house diversity awareness programme is run for all employees to understand our approach to diversity and to encourage a positive working environment.
Not only do we invest in our people: it is important to us to invest in the communities we live in. We have a clear Corporate Social Responsibility programme to ensure that we deliver real benefits for the wider communities in which we operate.
Depending on your level of qualification, we provide excellent supervision, which is what you would expect, as well as the opportunity to work with some fantastic clients on great quality work, from a very early stage of your career. Our success is built on our reputation for giving sound commercial advice to local, national and international clients. Clients recommend us because of the quality of our people, and the the fact that we really are more than just lawyers.
