He joined Michelmores in 2004, having qualified in 2003.

Tom acts for Exeter Airport and Blackpool Airport in connection with their property estates and development projects.
He is a member of the Energy & Renewables team, and has acted on many solar farm deals in the South West. He also has experience of mining leases, and telecommunications mast leases.
Tom is a keen microlight pilot and was chair of the Devon & Somerset Microlight Club in 2012-13.
- Acting for Exeter Airport in the grant of development leases to the Fire and Police Authorities for new 'airside' bases at the airport. The police helicopter base will also be used by Devon Air Ambulance. Tom's pilot's licence gave him a valuable insight into the operational and regulatory issues.
- Advising a major installer/developer of commercial rooftop solar PV arrays on a wide variety of rent-a-roof issues, including new-build residential schemes, public sector installations, buildings with sitting commercial tenants, and use of licences rather than leases. Tom's knowledge of commercial landlord & tenant law has enabled him to identify novel but achievable solutions to assist the roll out of installations to these more challenging properties. Tom has also assisted the same client in the disposal of tranches of completed rooftop leases to an investment fund.
- Tom was part of the Michelmores team that acted for Balfour Beatty on the sale of Exeter Airport to the Rigby Group in 2013. Following completion, the buyer commented that our detailed knowledge and well-documented estate management had simplified the property aspects of the transaction. We are now instructed by the new owners.
