Philip is an Associate in the Commercial Real Estate team. He joined Michelmores in 2015 from City firm Nabarro LLP.
Philip advises on all aspects of commercial property work, including sales and purchases, corporate transactions, development matters, and landlord and tenant work, for private and public sector clients. He has a particular focus on landlord and tenant matters, with experience of acting for significant institutional landlords on a wide variety of property types.
Philip is also experienced in acting for retailer tenants, including acting for market leading high street brands in the retail pharmacy, clothing and food sectors and one of the county's largest supermarket chains.
He graduated with a law degree from The University of Nottingham. In his spare time, Philip enjoys playing most sports, with a particular skill for losing golf balls during nice walks.
- Advising the institutional seller on the sale of a £24M shopping centre within a particularly tight timescale;
- Acting for the publicly listed investor owner on the redevelopment and refurbishment of a portfolio of occupied and operational medical centres and GP surgeries, requiring the negotiation of complex agreements for lease (conditional upon significant landlord's works) and reversionary leases. The client has internal pressures for swift progress and demanding targets, which were successfully met.
- Acting as principal contact for the seller of a 12 storey office block to a residential developer for £1M+. The matter was complicated by the fact that the seller retained an interest in a significant multi-let property which was situated next to the office block and shared various services and common part, but we successfully sold by long lease.
