Nigel is Chairman of the Board.
Nigel trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse in London before joining the Burton Group in 1984.
Following a wide-ranging career, Nigel was appointed to the Board of the Burton Group in August 1997. He became Group Finance Director in November 1997 and remained in that role until the Group, now renamed Arcadia Group following the demerger of Debenhams in January 1998, was sold to Philip Green in late 2002.
Since then Nigel has undertaken a number of non-executive and consultancy roles and is currently a Non-Executive Director of C&J Clark Limited and a Director of Exeter Rugby Group plc (which owns the Exeter Chiefs). Nigel has also recently been appointed as a Governor of Blundell's School in Tiverton.
In his role at Michelmores, Nigel brings an external commercial perspective to the operation of the business and to the development and implementation of the firm’s strategy.
Nigel lives near Tiverton, and enjoys country pursuits, gardening and fine wine.
- Leading a review of the management structure and governance arrangements for the Firm.
- Collaborating with the Retail team in arrangements for various retail networking events, including the annual Retail Dinner in London.
- Acting as a mentor/sounding board to a number of partners and directors within the Firm.
